Coffee Stop Event

We are organising a special event for the Refugee Appeal through Christian Aid to care for families fleeing from war, persecution and danger. We have all been watching images on our televisions and newspapers and wondering what we can do in response.
Come and join us on Saturday November 7th from 10 – 2pm.
Sample our delicious home made cakes and fair trade hot drinks.
There will also be a sale of good quality ‘pre-loved’ clothing, unwanted gifts and household items, books, toys, jewellery, scarves, hats, bags and high class bric-a-brac. You can also have your car washed and have soup and a roll. Everyone welcome.
Please invite your friends to contribute and come and join us.
Donations of extra cakes, clean suitable clothes for men, women and children (if possible on a hanger), scarves etc, gifts, good quality books, household items, jewellery and bric-a-brac or even financial donations are urgently needed. (Sorry no electrical items) Can you help please! Perhaps it is time to look in your wardrobe and cupboards to see if you have good quality items you no longer need! This sale cannot happen without your support and help. If you are able to volunteer to help on the day please contact one of the coffee stop team.
Please contact Sally or Suzan for more information, queries or to request collection. (use the website contact form)

Coffee Stop News

Peter Cross will be coming to Coffee Stop once a month next year, so come along for a chat with him, starting Thursday 8th January.

Coffee Stop will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day, but mince pies and other Christmas fare will be served, along with the usual yummy cakes, throughout December.

In November £130 was raised for the Samaritans. Donations in December will go to the Pregnancy Crisis Centre as we think about Mary’s pregnancy crisis and the birth of Jesus on that first Christmas.

Happy Christmas to you all from the Coffee Stop team – Suzan, Val S, Val J, Joyce, Sally, Pam, Mary, Clare and Sue.

Coffee Stop

“Coffee Stop” is a new venture in 2014 for Burniston Methodist Church. Opening every Thursday morning from 10-12, “Coffee Stop” offers an excellent variety of homemade cakes and a large selection of both hot and cold drinks. Come along and enjoy a drink in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Meet new people in 2014 and make new friends in a relaxed setting where- for a couple of hours at least- there is no rush at all! Run by volunteers, “Coffee Stop” asks no charge but, beyond costs, donations will be given to a chosen charity each month. “Coffee Stop” opened on the 9th January. Why not pay a visit? It’s located in Church on the High Street in Burniston!
