Christian Aid Week is here!

May 15th -21st

With Jesus’ command to “love our neighbours” ringing in our ears, Christian Aid week is a good time to show that love to our neighbours across the world and down our street. Here are some ways for you to get involved and make your contribution.

The Boyes Big Cake Sale

There will be a Cake Sale in Boyes Stores from Tuesday 17th May until Saturday 21st May from 10.00am until 4.00pm. All proceeds to Christian Aid.

Burniston Big Brekkie event!

The Coffee Stop Team are organising a Special Church Breakfast event for Christian Aid Week on Saturday 21st May so come along from 9am and even stay on for coffee and cake! There will be a Traidcraft Stall and a Bring and Buy Stall. Items for the stall and offers of help gratefully received. Contact Sally or Suzan.

(All the Thursday Coffee Stop donations received in May also will go to Christian Aid)

Christian Aid Envelopes.

On May 15th or 22nd please take and fill the Christian Aid Envelopes from the foyer for your donation and fill in the gift aid section where possible. Return the sealed envelopes to church the following week and place in the basket in the foyer.

This is the week we love every neighbour, so please join in.

Coffee Stop Event

We are organising a special event for the Refugee Appeal through Christian Aid to care for families fleeing from war, persecution and danger. We have all been watching images on our televisions and newspapers and wondering what we can do in response.
Come and join us on Saturday November 7th from 10 – 2pm.
Sample our delicious home made cakes and fair trade hot drinks.
There will also be a sale of good quality ‘pre-loved’ clothing, unwanted gifts and household items, books, toys, jewellery, scarves, hats, bags and high class bric-a-brac. You can also have your car washed and have soup and a roll. Everyone welcome.
Please invite your friends to contribute and come and join us.
Donations of extra cakes, clean suitable clothes for men, women and children (if possible on a hanger), scarves etc, gifts, good quality books, household items, jewellery and bric-a-brac or even financial donations are urgently needed. (Sorry no electrical items) Can you help please! Perhaps it is time to look in your wardrobe and cupboards to see if you have good quality items you no longer need! This sale cannot happen without your support and help. If you are able to volunteer to help on the day please contact one of the coffee stop team.
Please contact Sally or Suzan for more information, queries or to request collection. (use the website contact form)
