The Big Lunch
As part of a national initiative to encourage communities and people to come together, Scarborough’s new Mayor, Councillor Bill Chatt, is hosting a Big Lunch at Peasholm Park on Sunday 19th July at 12noon till 2pm.
People are invited to bring something to eat and share it with others, thereby encouraging people to interact and meet new people. The idea is to encourage community
cohesion.

SUNFLOWER, MARROW AND PUMPKIN GROWING COMPETITION
Join in the fun of the annual village competition by growing the tallest sunfl ower or the largest marrow or pumpkin. Proceeds of this year’s competition are kindly being donated to Burniston Chapel.
Sign up on the list in the foyer for a plant (£2 each), which will be available at the chapel on June 7th.

Church Open Day
The Church Open Day and Prayer and Praise evening on Saturday 30 May 2009 was enhanced by lovely weather as people from near and far explored the new building and enjoyed great refreshments during the day, and took time to worship and wait on God during the evening.
