Fair comment - a great way to meet with others in fellowship and friendship. We as a family really enjoyed the barn dance organised by the circuit life committee - the safari supper is too late for our kids so we won't be there, but I hope it is a great night. I agree about the ecological impact of the drive to church, especially over distance (I'm a bit sad that we are a little 'village church' with a big carbon footprint!) but then there are so many other factors in where people choose to worship.
My comment was intended to promote discussion - the church has often seemed to lag behind as 'green' issues have grown in public perception. I would love the church to be leading in this, and that involves looking at the impact of all it's activities. I'm glad most people will be sharing cars.
