A Mexican Wave of Prayer
Women’s World Day of Prayer
Friday March 5th 7.00p.m.
at Burniston Methodist Church
•
The Service is compiled by the women of Cameroon.
Theme: Let everything that has breath, Praise God
This day of Prayer begins on the International Dateline. The first service is held at dawn in Queen
Salote’s Girls school in Tonga.
Then as the earth rotates a Great Mexican Wave of Prayer begins and roles round the world until the final service of the day is held on the island of Samoa.
The first service in the world was in 1887 in America and England joined the movement in 1932.
This service will be the first service held at Burniston Methodist Church (as far as I am aware) - definitely in this building!
Please come and support us, women, men and children as we join in prayer for our world.
If you want to know more there are leaflets on the history of the event scattered around the church and in the entrance.
